Give an example of work experience you've completed and what you've learnt from it.

Medical schools these days are moving away from interest in HOW much experience you have an are more focused on what you learnt from the experience(s) you have had. For example, many students go to interview with lists of GP surgeries they have been to or detailed medical knowledge of the surgery they were able to watch. Instead, a successful candidate should be able to provide something they have learnt about themselves or healthcare. Personal experiences are particularly favoured. For example, instead of saying "I've been to a GP surgery", consider saying "I've been to a GPs surgery. I saw a patient that had x, the GP amazed me when they did x, it really made me think about x" (where x is replaced each time with a specific detail).
