How far did Stalin meet his industrial and agricultural aims before 1945?

Stalin's aims for the USSR before the second World War are commonly seen as wanting to industrialise the nation, re-arm in case of a future war, and rid society of kulaks (richer peasants) as to be able to control the poorer peasants better. The economic and domestic policies with which he tried to reach his aims were the Five Year Plans to industrialise and re-arm, collectivisation to be able to economically support this rapid industrialisation and dekulakisation to get rid of kulaks. The most successful policy was dekulakisation, as eventually Stalin was able to rid the USSR of kulaks. The Five Year Plans and collectivisation were less obvious successes as both policies were either disliked by the peasants (collectivisation) or too ambitious (Five Year Plans).
