The student has to present a current debate concerning a specific social/political/economical problem in France (eg. immigration; internal political structure, ...)

This kind of questions is a way to stimulate the student's interest in the culture of a nation. As I tend to repeat, studying a language is not only a matter of learning a new vocabulary, it also implies to discover and experience a new culture.

To answer such question it is important to start from a neutral and broader perspective in order to put the problem into context. In a second moment, the student would be asked to present the various alternatives proposed to solve the problem. It would be required to cite sources such as newspaper and political speeches.

The phase of reflection would be followed by a simulation of a debate between the tutora and the student: an efficient way to practice speaking and conversations skills.

The tutor should come prepared to offer he student other points of reflections concerning the problem at the end of the session (ex. a film that could be related to the question).
