Can I have some guidance on the correct answer for this word order, grammar question?

Here's an example: 'On each biscuit (was wrote) (wrote) (write) (was written) (was writ) a word in bright pink icing.' For this type of question you will need to circle the correct word(s) that are shown here in brackets that will ensure the sentence makes sense. Here you can see that you need to be thinking about the sentence in past tense (on the paper there will be an entire passage that will help you to choose which tense you think the narrator is writing in). The correct form of past tense for this question is '(was written)'. This is the past tense form of 'write' and works with the singular object. Something to watch out for on these multiple choice questions is that the lettering of each answer may not always be in alphabetical order i.e. ABCD, sometimes they switch them around so that the 3rd answer may indeed be A and not C. Be super careful when transferring answers onto your answer sheet as you could easily lose marks even when you knew the correct answer.
