How can I make my essay stand out?

There are a few steps to make a foreign language essay stand out:
Plan out your ideas before you start writingTry and take a few minutes to write an essay plan in which you organise your key ideas, and write down possible vocabulary. This will make writing your essay a lot smoother, and less stressful.
2. Ace your grammarTry and save enough time to read through your essay before you hand it in. Correct any 'avoidable mistakes' (forgetting an 's' in the plural form and so on). Attempting different and more difficult forms of grammar shows skill, this can be a good way to make your essay stand out rather than just for example using the present tense.
3. Use connectorsUsing connector phrases such as 'de plus', 'd'ailleurs', 'en premier lieu' ... This will make your essay seem more fluent, organised and coherent.

Translate: For my holiday last year, I went to Spain with my family. It was fun because we went to the beach and swam in the sea. I especially loved the food. I would like to go to Spain again, but next summer, I think I’m going to France with my friends.
