What do I need to do in Paper 2 to achieve full marks? What will impress the examiner?

Paper 2 is all about showing off your writing skills so the most important thing is to know your writing formats inside out! Whether its a diary entry, a newspaper article or a blog post, be prepared to know key phrases that suit each of the writing styles, how to position paragraphs, what kind of language is appropriate etc. - this will guarantee you full marks in your formatting section. If you want to take it one step further and REALLY impress the examiner, think about the little details. Add in a small doodle in your diary entry to really show that it's a diary. Add a facebook logo and a share button on your blog post to really emphasise that it's a blog post.
Although formatting is important, never choose a writing prompt solely based on the difficulty or effort it takes to create the format! Language, spelling and grammar is a huge part of the marks so always go for the prompt you feel most comfortable writing an answer for. Idioms are hugely important when it comes to impressing the examiner -aim to throw in at least 1 per paragraph! To impress them even more, choose some lesser known idioms or perhaps idioms from a different hispanic country. (Spain isn't the only place that speaks Spanish you know!) When it comes to spelling check your accents! Have you included them all? Your knowledge of various tenses/moods is what will gain you marks in the grammar section so be sure to mix it up. Don't be afraid of showing off, the examiner wants to see that you know lots of tenses/moods! The use of subjunctive mood will always impress the examiner so make sure you know it (and more importantly when to use it!)...
