Do I need to memorise quotations (critical or from the text studied).

Memorising quotations is not a requirement for any English Literature paper. Paraphrasing the quotation is often sufficient.
In terms of critical quotations, memorising can be difficult but useful. However, knowing between 3-5 critical quotations is often all you need so long as you pick versatile critical arguments.
