Cardiac output is the volume of blood pumped out of the heart every minute. It is made up of: stroke volume and heart rate.Stroke volume is the volume of blood pumped out with each heart beat.Heart rate is how many heart beats happen each minute.Cardiac output = stroke volume X heart rate.
