What topic should I talk about in my oral?

Your oral presentation will only last two minutes but it is important to consider the longer general conversation you will have after this. When considering options for your oral presentation, it is important that you choose a subject you are interested in. If you are interested in your topic then you will be more inclined to research it in more depth and gain a greater knowledge of that subject field. It also means you will enjoy your work more. It can help to think about why you chose to study Spanish at A Level and what interests you most about the culture. Conversely, if Spanish is not your favourite subject or you are not studying it at university, you can try to link it to another subject you are interested in; such as, discussing a famous Spanish scientist if science is your main interest. I chose the subject "Which has contributed more to modern Spanish society: the Moors or the Catholic faith?" which combined my two subjects (Spanish and Arabic) perfectly and means that even now, at university, I have great knowledge on the Moorish presence in the Iberian peninsula. This oral presentation can be an excellent way to prepare for an Oxbridge interview, if you have obtained niche knowledge on a particular novel or even film then you can bring this up in your interview.
