Explain why Christians would argue that life is sacred.

Many Christians would suggest that life is sacred. They would say that every person is made in God’s image. This belief stems from Genesis 1 which says ‘God made man to his own image…male and female he created them’.  The idea that humans are made in the image of God  suggests that we are important and valuable ‘Let Us make man in Our image…let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky… over all the earth’. This contrasts with the atheistic position which points to the biological similarities between humans and other primates. However, many Christians would argue that human life is holy and so every human life is special to God. Therefore, life is sacred.
