What is the difference between the "near future" and the "simple future"?

We use the future simple when we are thinking of doing something - by adding the correct endings to the stem of the verb. The simple future is for when we are SURE we will do something (it is definite) and we do this by adding the conjugated "aller" in front of the verb we are sure we will do.
