"What's the difference between passé composé and imparfait?"

Passé composé and imparfait are used when referring to the past tense in French. While both are used to explain an event that happened in the past, imparfait is used in less specific scenarios while passé composé has a more focussed time frame. For example: For the verb "Faire" (doing). Imparfait Je faisais la vaisselle --> I was doing the dishes Passé ComposéJ'ai fais la vaisselle --> I did the dishes Imparfait gives less indication of the length of time that the event took place in (when it started and ended), while passé composé gives a more specified and finite time-frame.
