How do you conjugate verbs in the imperfect tense?

Firstly, for all regular verbs begin by removing the AR/ER/IR ending.E.g. 'comer' changes to 'com'.
Then if you are conjugating an AR verb:Add the appropriate ending from the following list, depending on the subject (person) of the conjugation.
Yo (I): abaTú (you singular): abasÉl/ ella (he/she/it): abaNosotros (we): ábamosVosotros (you plural): abaisEllos/ ellan (they): aban
E.g. To say "you were swimming": 'nadar' becomes 'nad', + 'abas' = 'nadabas'.
OR If you are conjugating an IR or ER verb:Add the appropriate ending from the following list, depending on the subject (person) of the conjugation.
Yo (I): íaTú (you singular): íasÉl/ ella (he/she/it): íaNosotros (we): íamosVosotros (you plural): íaisEllos/ ellan (they): ían
E.g. To say "we were driving": 'conducir' becomes 'conduc', + 'íamos' = 'conducíamos'.
There are only 3 irregular verbs in the imperfect tense: ser, ver and ir.See below for their conjugated forms, following the order of persons as listed above.
Ser: era, eras, era, éramos, erais, eranVer: veía, veías, veía, veíamos, veíais, veíanIr: iba, ibas, iba, íbamos, ibais, iban
