Quand utiliser tu et quand utiliser vous ?

Pour une personne de moins de 18 ans environ, il faut utiliser tu pour quelqu'un de son âge, de 18 ans ou moins, pour sa famille ou ses amis. Vous est reservé à toutes les autres personnes : professeurs, étrangers... Pour une personne de plus de 18 ans, avoir le même âge que la personne à qui on s'adresse ne garantie pas l'utilisation du terme tu, par exemple il faudra utiliser vous avec un collègue ou un ami si vous n'êtes pas très proches. Pour la famille ou les amis proches, utilisez tu. En temps normal il est toujours plus sûr d'utilisez vous avec des adultes étrangers ou peu connus, mais certaines personnes comme des professeurs d'universités peu âgés voudront utiliser le terme tu pour plus de proximité.
