Solve the following simultaneous equations: y-3x+2=0, y^2-x-6x^2=0

(1) y-3x+2=0
(2) y2-x-6x2=0
Using (1): y=3x-2
Sub y value into (2): (3x-2)2-x-6x2=0
Expand the brackets: 9x2-13x+4-x-6x

Prove that cos(4x) = 8(cos^4(x))-8(cos^2(x)) + 1

cos(4x) = cos(2(2x)) = 2(cos^2(2x)) - 1 = 2 (cos^2(x) - 1)^2 - 1 = 8(cos^4(x)) - 8(cos^2(x)) + 1
