Express 1/(x(1-3x)) in partial fractions.

1/(x(1-3x))= A/x+ B/(1-3x) 1= A(1-3x) + B(1-3x)

when x=0    1=A

when x= 1/3     1=B/3 so B=3

1/(x(1-3x))= 1/x + 3/(1-3x)

Express 9^(3x+1) in the form 3^y, giving "y" in the form "ax+b" where "a" and "b" are constants.

9= 32 so 93x+1 = 32(3x+1) = 36x+2

y= 6x+2 where a=6 and b=2
