(a) Rcos (x+a) = Rcosxcosa - Rsinxsina

7cosx - 24sinx = Rcosxcosa - Rsinxsina

Rcosa = 7,    Rsina = 24

Tan a = 24/7

       a = 1.287 (3 S.F.)
