The graph of y = x^2 – 1 is translated 3 units to the left to give graph A.The equation of graphA can be written in the form y=x^2 +bx+c Work out the values of b and c.

identify what the question is asking -> both translation rules and expansion of bracketstranslation rule --> translation of 3units left on x-axis actually gives a the graph of y=(x+3)^2 -1. This is ...

Solve simultaneously: 3x+2y=7 & x-2y=-3

Add the 2 eqns together to eliminate the y's to give: 4x=4. Divide by 4 to give x=1Now substitute x=1 into the first eqn: 3+2y=7. Subtract 3 from both sides -> 2y=4. Divide by 2 to give y=2.Now, check ...

Find the coordinates of the turning point of the graph y=x^2 -x -12. Use it to sketch the graph on a set of x-y axis.

-Firstly we should check if the equation has the variables separated (x on one side and y on the other side of the equal sign), which they apear to are, therefore we can proceed to the next step. As it is...
