if f(x) = 7x-1 and g(x) = 4/(x-2), solve fg(x) = x

fg(x) = 7(4/x-2) -1 = x

28/(x-2) - 1 = x

28/(x-2) = x +1

28 = (x+1)(x-2)

28 = x2 - x - 2

0 = x2 - x - 30

0 = (x-6)(x+5)   x=6 x=-5

Therefore it is ...

Three forces (4i + 7j)N, (pi +5j)N and (-8i+qj) N act on a particle of mass 5 kg to produce an acceleration of (2i - j) m s 2 . No other forces act on the particle. Find the resultant force acting on the particle in terms of p and q. THEN find p and Q

Three forces : (4i + 7j)N , (pi +5j)N , (-8i+qj) N Mass = 5 kg acceleration = (2i - j) A.Collect like terms (4+p-8)i +(7+5+q)j = (-4+p...
