When should you use the subjunctive?

Factorise (x+3)(x-8)

(x+3)(x-8)

x*x= x^2

x*-8= -8x

3*x= 3x

3*-8= -24

=x^2 - 8x + 3x - 24

=x^2 - 5x - 24
