Antibiotics are important for treating bacterial infections that may be making us ill. There are many different antibiotics that work in different ways, and therefore they are suitable for treating different kinds of bacterial infection.Three examples of antibiotics are Penicillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. These work in three different ways that can kill bacteria in three different ways: 1. Penicillin - an antibiotic that prevents bacteria replicating by inhibiting cell wall growth. 2. Erythromycin - an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing protein synthesis, meaning that the bacteria cannot produce the proteins that it needs to survive. 3. Ciprofloxacin - this antibiotic prevents bacteria replicating by inhibiting DNA replication.
