Solve 2x + 7 = 13

In this question we are as to solve this equation and therefore find the value of x. This means we need to isolate x to find a value for it. To do this we use the reverse rules for BIDMAS whereby the first step would be takeaway 7 from both sides of the equation. This leaves you with 2x = 6. We now move onto division. Both sides of the equation need to be divided by 2 allowing the x to be isolated. This will leave you with x = 3 which is your final solution.
