Describe the pathway of an electrical signal in producing a response to a stimulus

  • Stimulus is detected by a recepttor e.g. the skin- Electrical signals travel from receptor to Central nervous System (CNS) via sensory neurones- CNS coordinates a response to the stimuli- CNS sends electrical signal to effector organ, via moto neurones. The effector organ will always be a muscle or a gland- Effector organ can then carry out a response e.g. moving hand
