Is the function f(x)=x^3+24x+3 an increasing or decreasing function?

f(x)=x^3 +24x+3 f'(x)=3x2+24 Since x^2>0 for all real x 3x^2+24>0 So f(x) is an increasing function

Let y be a function of x such that y=x^3 + (3/2)x^2-6x and y = f(x) . Find the coordinates of the stationary points .

Solve: x^2-7x+6=0

g(x) = ( x / (x+3) ) + ( 3(2x+1) / (x^2 + x - 6) ). Show that this can be simplified to: g(x) = (x+1) / (x-2).
