How can I improve the structure of my essay?

Illustrate to the student the advantages of using thematic essay structures whilst equally showing the limitations of using chronological structures. Reference the specific mark scheme the student is using and explain to the student other details examiners may be looking for within the structure of the essay e.g. assessing the extent of each theme, qualifying importance and quantifying longevity for questions which ask about continuity and change.
