How can I quickly revise knowledge while also working on exam technique?

Mind maps are a really great way to revise knowledge. Start with an exam question, identify the key theme(s) present in that question and place these themes in the bubble at the centre of your mind map. Set a timer for 2 minutes and use one colour to write down as much evidence and pieces of information that might be relevant for those themes without using any resources other than your memory! After the two minutes is up use a different coloured pen to add more detail to your mind map using your notes and textbooks. Repeat this process until you can create a mind map full of extra detail without using your notes. This technique can be used when planning an essay in an exam; take 1 or 2 minutes to create a mind map of knowledge based on the essay question's themes just as you did during your revision. This knowledge will help to make a focused plan and evidence filled essay.
