expand the brackets: (x+3)(x+2)

(x+3)(x+2)we need to multiply each term by both terms in the other bracketFOIL helps us remember the process. First, Outer, Inner, Last so we don't forget any of them.Fist - in this case multiply the first x by the other x : x2Outer - the outer two terms of each bracket so in this case x multiplied by the 2: 2xInner - the inner two terms of each bracket so in this case 3 multiplied by the x : 3xlast - the remaining terms left 'unmultiplied' so 3 multiplied by 2: 6so adding all the answers together gives x2+2x+3x+6this then simplifies by collecting like terms to: x2+5x+6
