How important were transnational solidarities to the American Civil Rights Movement during the 1960?'

Transnational solidarities were important in developing the methods of African American activists but were not important in the outcomes of the civil rights movement. Transnational solidarities are defined as a relation of mutual support or recognition between partners (individuals or states), who share the same goal: to realise a common political project by any form of transnational public authority. The way these developed were particular in individuals; those like Martin Luther King Jr. with the ideas of non-violent civil disobedience, and A. Philip Randolph and influence of socialism which became critical to the Black Power movement during the late 1960’s. The way these formed were through international press coverage, particularly of Martin Luther King Jr.’s work, and international visits to countries undergoing independence movements. Through the sphere of campaigning against segregation, campaigning against the economic disparities, and attempts to gain political influence, African American activists heavily drew upon the worldwide clash against imperialism, and the methods used to gain independence. The achievements, however, were nationalist in their outcomes and focused upon national governments as opposed to undermining the ideology of racism worldwide.Things I tried to get across in this introduction:Clear line of argumentPutting across hints that I know what I am talking aboutAn overview for my essay StructureA balanced argument with a clear outcome.Definitions of the terms used in the essay question.
