Why did the USA introduce marshal aid

There are several reasons the USA introduced marshal aid. Ranging from the ideological to the economic. The ideological reason is that support for communism was rising in Europe. As the “leader” of capitalism in the Cold War it’s clear this isn’t something the USA will like. Reports by US diplomats indicated the reason for communism rose in Europe was the poor economic condition from the distraction brought by ww2. Therefor by providing marshal aid they help stop communism rise.secondly marshal aid allows Europe to rebuild. A rebuilt Europe is a lot better market for US goods in trade. So there is an economic incentive to provide Europe with marshal aid.
