The percentage of oxygen absorbed from the air in the lungs is usually approximately the same, so how can the oxygen supply to the blood be increased during vigorous activity?

The oxygen supply to the lungs can be increased during vigorous activity by inhaling more deeply and more rapidly. This will cause a larger volume of air to be taken in per breath, which exposes the capillaries to more oxygen in a given time.
