How to "study" A-level Maths, not just learn?

To make you an A* student in Maths and Further Maths, the main technique is to sort everything by methods and knowledge. I spent 3 weekends catching up from knowing nothing to A* by my methods and I will never forget it, because I'm study it, not learn it.

A curve has equation 3x^4/3-16y^3/4=32. By differentiating implicitly find dy/dx in terms of x and y. Hence find the gradient of the curve at the point (8,1).

Find the values of x such that: (log3(81)+log2(32))/(log2(x)) = log2(x) (5 marks)
