How correct is the leadership myth in Nazi Germany?

There is debate around how strong a leader Hitler actually was. Hitler was known for being a recluse. He hated being in Berlin, he often got up late and hated doing governmental work, preferring to hike in the German countryside instead. This meant he often left jobs up to the other members of the Nazi party such as Himmler and Goering. Many people believe that this meant that these men were in charge of the Nazi rule of Germany not Hitler. He was mainly a figurehead. Other historians believe that in fact Hitler had complete control over his party. He left jobs up to his associates to encourage competition and he never involved himself with governmental matters so as his name could not be associated with any incriminating actions.
