Sketch a graph of the equation of y=2x+5

From the format of the equation which is y=mx+c you can tell that it is a straight line graph. in the equation m means gradient which in this question is 2 and c is the y-intersect which in this question is 5. To be able to draw this graph accurately we need to coordinates. The first coordinate is when x=0 what is the value of y; so to obtain the value of y when x=0 you just need to substitute x with 0 in the equation and you will get 5, therefore the first coordinate is (0,5). Now for the second coordinate you need to know the value of x when y=0; to do so you sub in 0 as y and rearrange the equation to make the x subject, and by doing that you should get -5/2. Now that you have these two coordinates you can join this two points in the graph with a ruler to get a straight line graph. The slope or gradient of the graph should be positive which means the line is going upwards from left to right.
