Describe the two components of the nervous system.

The nervous system is made up of two parts: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS is made up of the brain and the spinal cord. The PNS is made up of sensory and motor neurones which transmit information towards and away from the CNS.
