new amount = old amount * (1 + interest)^(number of times interest has occured)

new amount = 1.50 * (1 + 0.03)^5 = £1.74 (rounded to 2 decimal places)

Differentiate y = x^3 + 2x^2 + 4x + 7

To differentiate you bring the power down and multiply it by any coefficients (numbers in front of the xs) then subtract one from the power 

So x3 becomes 3x2
