To what extent was the Scramble for Africa due to power dynamics within Europe?

This is a factor essay question. Therefore, you must include the given factor (power dynamics within Europe) in your answer, but you must also include other factors - I suggest two further factors - to demonstrate that you understand the bigger picture and to quantify the relative significance of the given factor. When you have chosen the other factors you want to use (there may be any number of factors but just pick the ones you are most confident with) you should rank the three factors in order of importance, before giving a now quantified conclusion.
Let's explain this with a tangible example, the structure of this essay will be: Introduction Three factors in order of importance:1) Power dynamics within Europe 2) commercial endeavours 3) the role of missionaries in AfricaConclusion
So step one is to write a concise but informative introduction, briefly outlining the three factors. Step two is discussing the first factor with relevant evidence, linking it back to the question after every point and ending with 'to the largest extent'. Step three is discussing the second factor with relevant evidence, linking it back to the question after every point and ending with a qualifier as to why the first factor is significant to a greater extent. Step four is the same as step three but for the third factor. And finally step five is writing a conclusion which reaffirms why factor one is the most significant and thus agrees with the question that the Scramble for Africa due to power dynamics within Europe to a great extent (note that you can very easily disagree with the question using different factors if that is how you interpret the question).
